Challenge

When we started collaborating, the access control market was dominated by outdated, inconvenient systems. Existing products lacked modern features, seamless user experience, and integration with everyday technology like smartphones, making it challenging for businesses and event organisers to manage visitors efficiently.

Solution

Holycode’s product development team worked closely with the PassEntry founders to design and develop a seamless, modern NFC-based access solution. We ran discovery workshops to align goals and user needs with business objectives, prioritised user stories for the MVP, and created a clear information architecture and development plan. The result was a “contactless pass to any venue” product that allows users to enter events and buildings with a simple tap on their smartphones, while enabling organisers to easily issue, manage, and track passes in real time.

Impact

PassEntry launched successfully after 14 agile sprints, with a product that is integrated with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, eliminating the need for physical cards or fobs. Thanks to features like a real-time data dashboard, customisable pass designs, dark mode for low-light environments, and a custom API for seamless system integration, PassEntry has quickly become a standout solution in the NFC access control space. Our collaboration helped PassEntry bring an innovative product to market, achieving their business goals while improving access control for businesses and event organisers.
