Typewise was co-founded by Janis and David in 2019 with a vision to address text prediction challenges through innovative technology. Their journey began with the development of an award-winning keyboard app, which has garnered over 2 million downloads. Over time, Typewise shifted its focus towards serving enterprise customers.

Typewise gained support from Y Combinator and partnered with ETH Zurich to continuously improve their AI technology. The company currently offers three products: a smartphone keyboard app, an AI writing assistant, and an API. The Typewise keyboard is a mobile application available for both iOS and Android smartphones and it provides innovative features for efficient typing, offering users two keyboard layouts: the conventional QWERTY keyboard and their self-invented hexagonal layout (“honeycomb layout”), specifically designed for fast thumb typing.

The Typewise writing assistant is a browser-based text prediction tool tailored to boost speed and quality of written communication, which is particularly important for customer support and sales teams. Furthermore, Typewise offers an API that allows developers to integrate Typewise’s AI capabilities into third-party platforms, expanding the reach of their technology beyond their native applications.
